Tips For Magazine Printing

Thinking about designing your own magazine? Well, here are a few tips and bits of advice for anyone interested in publishing their very own magazine:

The first thing you need to do is find a trustworthy and successful commercial color publication printing company to handle that aspect of the business. If you can’t rely on your publication printing company, you’re going to have serious issues with creating a product.

The next thing to do is design your cover. This is typically everybody’s favorite part, BUT DON’T RUSH IT! You don’t want to be constantly shifting and changing your cover, as it will be virtually the symbol of your magazine, and you want it to stay as consistent as possible. So once you have your cover designed, make sure you love it a whole big bunch before sending it to your publication printing company.

Some other quick hit tips:

Select your font carefully. Yes, having something unique is a good idea, but as you reach for uniqueness be careful not to dabble into incomprehensible.

Balance your “blank space.” Is it bad to have too much white areas? Yes, of course it is. But it’s just as damaging to just shove as much information and cram it into the tiniest of margins. Find your balance.
